Originally from North Carolina, Marsha comes from a family of musicians but found her own creative expression through painting. She is captivated by the way color, line, and perspective come together on canvas, and by the possibilities that unfold through the painting process.
She studied journalism with an emphasis in graphic design at UNC Chapel Hill, but her first love has always been fine art. Her work explores landscapes, florals, and imaginative compositions, with symbolic elements increasingly finding their way into her paintings. Looking ahead, she intends to develop distinct collections of landscape, symbolic, floral, and abstract works, each exploring its own visual language and atmosphere. She is drawn to creating work that combines visual appeal with opportunities for discovery, inviting viewers to pause, look closer, and find their own points of connection.
Her perspective on art and its place in our lives has also been shaped by her experiences living abroad. Two decades ago, she lived in China, where the densely built urban environment made her more aware of how deeply people need nature and beauty in their everyday surroundings. Years later, an American living abroad expressed a similar longing in a different way when she remarked, “My home is my castle.” To her, home was a kind of fairytale—a personal sanctuary where she could create beauty, order, and a sense of belonging.
These experiences have deepened her appreciation for the role of art in both public and private spaces. She believes art can inspire and uplift, evoke nostalgia, offer comfort, and remind us of who we are and what we value. Through her paintings, she seeks to bring atmosphere and individuality to a space while offering viewers something that continues to engage them over time.
She creates original artwork for individual collectors, interior designers, and anyone seeking a distinctive piece that adds character and depth to a space, whether a private home, an office, or a boutique hospitality setting. Her hope is that each painting finds a place where people enjoy living with it—where they can pause, reflect, discover new details, and continue to find pleasure in the work as the years pass.
